REMOTE OK
Remote Job Anywhere

Worth looking at despite some shortcomings

Remote.OK was created by Pieter Levels, the same guy who invented Nomadlist, and the page is a good source of remote jobs, but in our view, there are a few shortcomings.

First of all, it’s hard to say how many jobs or job categories there are because the filters and job types are all mashed together. It might make it look like there are plenty of jobs, but the same jobs show regardless of the filters you use, making it a bit hard to see jobs you are interested in.

Peter loves to automate all his sites, but that sometimes comes at a price of accuracy. The ‘Salary info’ is an example of that. At first, it looks great, all jobs seem to have salary ranges, but at a closer look, you learn that only a few have actual Salary info while the majority of them are just “estimated based on similar jobs.”

Most job listings include some additional information about the benefits, but this is not mandatory, so not all have it. The same goes for Contract Type, Work schedule, or Hiring Insights.

Regardless of this, it’s definitely an additional source of jobs, so it’s worth checking it out regardless; maybe it will work better for you than it does for us.

Let us know below what YOU think about the Remote OK

Positive
  • Variety of both Dev and non-Dev jobs
  • Very popular among companies who want to post remote jobs, means a lot of well-known brands & businesses.
  • New Listings Daily.
Negatives
  • The Salary is just an estimate based on similar listings.
  • You need to log in or register on Remote OK to Apply.
  • Some Info on Benefits, but not much on Work Schedule, Hiring Insights.
